Join Not Your Average Book Club for Chapters in Prescott, a thoughtfully curated fall reading retreat filled with cozy mornings, bookstore strolls, comforting meals, bookish activities, and meaningful connection with fellow readers in the heart of Prescott, Arizona.


Your Weekend in Prescott

Friday, September 18th

  • 5:00 PM | Prologue & Prosecco: Settle in, grab a drink, snack on charcuterie, and meet your fellow book lovers before our cozy weekend begins.
  • 6:30 PM | First Chapter Fiesta: Kick off retreat weekend with a cozy Mexican dinner, margaritas, glass bottle Cokes, and plenty of bookish conversation.
  • 8:00 PM | Bookish Game Night: Defend your favorite tropes, create the world’s most chaotic romance plot, and get to know your fellow readers.

Saturday, September 19th

  • 8:00 AM | Breakfast:  Start the morning slow with breakfast and a cozy morning with your fellow readers.
  • 9:00 AM | Audiobook Walk to Wild Iris Coffee House: Grab your headphones and join us for a cozy audiobook walk to Prescott’s oldest coffee shop for coffee and pastries.
  • 10:00 AM | Main Character Morning: Stroll through charming downtown Prescott, browse local shops, and explore the shelves at Peregrine Book Company.
  • 12:30 PM | Lunch at Bear & Dragon Cafe: Enjoy lunch together at Prescott’s beloved fantasy-inspired book café.
  • 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM | Afternoon Reading Club: Spend the afternoon curled up with your current read and embracing the cozy fall retreat vibes.
  • Tote-ally Booked Craft: Paint your own Trader Joe’s tote and create custom bag charms while you snack, sip, read, and unwind.
  • 5:30 PM | Stories & Soup Night: Gather around for a cozy soup supper, warm bread, and slow evening conversations after a full day in Prescott.
  • 7:00 PM | Walking Ghost Tour: Explore Prescott’s haunted history on a guided walking tour through the town’s most famous ghost stories and historic haunts.

Sunday, September 20th

  • 8:00 AM | Breakfast: Enjoy one final slow morning together with coffee, breakfast, and cozy conversation before checkout.
  • 9:00 AM | Pass the Bookmark: Exchange notes, favorite memories, book recommendations, and heartfelt messages with your fellow readers before the weekend comes to a close.
  • Departure: Checkout is at 11AM. Safe travels home, and thank you for being part of our cozy Prescott reading retreat weekend.


Please note: the itinerary is thoughtfully curated but may shift slightly to allow for flexibility, weather, or spontaneous moments that make the weekend even better.

Retreat Investment

Cost Per Person

Your retreat investment includes:


  • Accommodations for the full weekend
  • All curated activities and crafts
  • Swag bags and special bookish touches
  • All meals and drinks throughout the weekend including coffee at Wild Iris (with the exception of one meal out at Bear & Dragon Cafe)


From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, everything is thoughtfully planned so you can relax, show up, and enjoy the experience without worrying about the details.

How Booking Works

To ensure the best possible group experience, this retreat is application-based.


Once applications are reviewed:

  • Approved attendees will receive a confirmation email
  • Payment details will be shared directly at that time
  • Your spot is secured once payment is completed

Payment Options

We offer two payment options so you can choose what works best for you:


Option 1: Stripe

Pay via a secure Stripe link using your preferred payment method.

Payment plans will be available through Stripe, but processing fees will apply.


Option 2: Zelle or Venmo

Pay directly via Zelle or Venmo to avoid all processing fees.

This option requires payment in full at the time of booking.

Room assignments are based on availability at the time of approval and payment.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Because this retreat requires advance planning, bookings, and commitments, all payments are non-refundable once submitted.


If you’re unable to attend after booking:

  • Your spot may be transferred to another approved attendee if you’re able to find a replacement and notify us in advance.
  • We’ll always do our best to help facilitate a transfer, but cannot guarantee a replacement.


In the unlikely event that Not Your Average Book Club must cancel the retreat, all payments made will be fully refunded.


By submitting payment, you acknowledge and agree to this refund and cancellation policy.


We understand that life happens, and while we can’t offer refunds, we promise to approach every situation with care and clear communication.

Not at all. Many attendees come solo, and this retreat is designed to make it easy to connect and feel comfortable from the start.

You’ll submit an application, and once reviewed, approved attendees will receive a confirmation email with next steps and payment details. No payment is required until you’ve been approved.

Your retreat investment includes accommodations, all curated activities and crafts, swag bags, and all meals and drinks for the weekend (including your coffee at Wild Iris), with the exception of one meal out at Bear & Dragon Cafe.

Rooms are assigned based on availability at the time of approval and payment. You’ll have the chance to indicate your room preference during the application process.

Yes. Payment plans are available through Stripe and may include processing fees. If you prefer to avoid fees, you can pay in full via Zelle or Venmo.

All payments are non-refundable. However, you may transfer your spot to another approved attendee with advance notice.
