Join Not Your Average Book Club for The Romantasy Retreat, a four-day, three-night getaway nestled among the breathtaking red rocks of Sedona, Arizona.


From an enchanting Night Court dinner and stargazing beneath the desert sky to fairy-inspired festivities, creative workshops, cozy reading moments, and a little well-deserved pampering, every detail has been thoughtfully curated to bring the magic of your favorite stories to life.


Come for the fantasy. Stay for the friendships. Leave with memories worthy of their own happily ever after.


Four Days. Four Chapters. One Magical Escape.

Thursday, January 7th: Welcome to the Inner Circle

  • 5:00 PM | Arrival in the Realm: Step into our Sedona sanctuary, settle into your accommodations, explore the estate, and enjoy a welcome cocktail hour while meeting your fellow book lovers.
  • 6:00 PM | The Inner Circle Welcome Dinner: Kick off our magical weekend with a casual dinner, introductions, and plenty of bookish conversation.
  • 7:30 PM | Romantasy Jeopardy: Put your knowledge of your favorite fantasy worlds to the test with a little friendly competition, plenty of laughs, and a chance to get to know your fellow readers.
  • 8:15 PM | The Inner Circle Fireside: Gather around the fire beneath the Sedona stars, sip something sweet from our Winter Solstice Cocoa Bar, and enjoy a cozy evening with your new book besties.
  • Evening | Your Story, Your Pace: Wind down with a good book, explore the estate, or simply relax before the magic continues tomorrow.

Friday, January 8th: Welcome to Prythian

  • 8:30 AM | The Valkyrie Morning Ritual: Channel your inner Valkyrie with a gentle, restorative yoga session inspired by Nesta, Gwyn, and Emerie. A peaceful morning of movement, mindfulness, and connection.
  • 9:30 AM | Breakfast at the House of Wind: Fuel up for a magical day with a delicious breakfast spread, fresh fruit, pastries, and canned lattes.
  • 11:00 AM | The Artisan Quarter: Step into the creative heart of Velaris for a ceramic trinket dish workshop! Design your own keepsake inspired by the courts of Prythian, from Night Court stars to Spring Court florals.
  • 12:30 PM | Lunch in the Rainbow: Enjoy a colorful, fresh lunch inspired by Velaris's vibrant artistic district, the Rainbow.
  • 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM | The House of Wind: An Afternoon of Leisure: The afternoon is yours! Curl up with a good book, visit our book bedazzling station, spend time with your new book besties, or simply relax and enjoy the estate.
  • 6:00 PM | A Night in Velaris: The High Lord's Banquet: Dress in your finest Night Court-inspired attire for an enchanting dinner beneath the Sedona stars. Think candlelight, celestial details, and an evening worthy of the Inner Circle.
  • 7:30 PM | The Court of Theories: Gather with your fellow ACOTAR lovers for an evening of fan theories, favorite characters, controversial opinions, and predictions about what comes next. Nothing is off the table!
  • 8:30 PM | Starfall After Dark: End our day in Prythian beneath the desert sky with stargazing, music, conversation, and a little celestial magic.

Saturday, January 9th: Into the Enchanted Realm

  • 9:00 AM | Breakfast in the Enchanted Forest: Begin your morning with a delicious breakfast surrounded by a little woodland magic as we prepare for a day straight out of a fairy tale.
  • 10:30 AM | The Enchanted Apothecary: Step into a whimsical apothecary and create your own magical concoction inspired by the enchanted worlds of romantasy. A hands-on experience filled with creativity, a little mystery, and plenty of fairy-tale charm.
  • 12:00 PM | The Fairy Garden Luncheon: Gather for a whimsical garden-inspired lunch filled with delicious bites, enchanting details, and plenty of bookish conversation.
  • 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM | The Fae Sanctuary: An afternoon dedicated entirely to relaxation and a little indulgence. Enjoy spa-inspired experiences, unwind with a good book, visit our optional book bedazzling station, or simply enjoy the estate at your own pace.
  • 4:30 PM | Fantasy Sound Bath: Escape into a peaceful, immersive sound bath experience designed to help you unwind, recharge, and embrace a little inner magic.
  • 6:00 PM | The Enchanted Fairy Feast: Your invitation to a magical evening awaits! Slip into your fairy wings and gather for a whimsical dinner inspired by the enchanted realms of your favorite fantasy stories.
  • 7:30 PM | Ever After Pajama Movie Night: Trade your fairy wings for your coziest pajamas and settle in for a fantasy-inspired movie night, complete with a themed snack bar and all the cozy vibes.

Sunday, January 10th: The Final Chapter

  • 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM | The Final Chapter Breakfast: Enjoy one last slow morning in our Sedona sanctuary with a relaxed continental breakfast featuring fresh pastries, bagels, fruit, coffee, and canned lattes.
  • 9:30 AM | Until the Next Chapter: Gather with your fellow book lovers for one final goodbye, and close out our magical weekend together.
  • Before Checkout | One Last Look at the Kingdom: Capture those final photos, exchange hugs with your new book besties, and say goodbye to our little corner of Prythian. Until our next adventure!

Please note: the itinerary is thoughtfully curated but may shift slightly to allow for flexibility, weather, or spontaneous moments that make the weekend even better.

How Booking Works

To ensure the best possible group experience, this retreat is application-based.


Once applications are reviewed:

  • Approved attendees will receive a confirmation email
  • Payment details will be shared directly at that time
  • Your spot is secured once payment is completed

Payment Options

We offer two payment options so you can choose what works best for you:


Option 1: Stripe

Pay via a secure Stripe link using your preferred payment method.

Payment plans will be available through Stripe, but processing fees will apply.


Option 2: Zelle or Venmo

Pay directly via Zelle or Venmo to avoid all processing fees.

This option requires payment in full at the time of booking.

Room assignments are based on availability at the time of approval and payment.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Because this retreat requires advance planning, bookings, and commitments, all payments are non-refundable once submitted.


If you’re unable to attend after booking:

  • Your spot may be transferred to another approved attendee if you’re able to find a replacement and notify us in advance.
  • We’ll always do our best to help facilitate a transfer, but cannot guarantee a replacement.


In the unlikely event that Not Your Average Book Club must cancel the retreat, all payments made will be fully refunded.


By submitting payment, you acknowledge and agree to this refund and cancellation policy.


We understand that life happens, and while we can’t offer refunds, we promise to approach every situation with care and clear communication.

Not at all. Many attendees come solo, and this retreat is designed to make it easy to connect and feel comfortable from the start.

You’ll submit an application, and once reviewed, approved attendees will receive a confirmation email with next steps and payment details. No payment is required until you’ve been approved.

The Romantasy Retreat is a fully all-inclusive experience! Your $950 investment covers three nights of luxury accommodations, all meals, snacks, drinks, themed dinners, immersive activities, creative workshops, wellness experiences, and special bookish gifts. Everything listed in our itinerary is included, with no additional costs or surprise fees. Just show up, relax, and enjoy the magic!

Rooms are assigned based on availability at the time of approval and payment. You’ll have the chance to indicate your room preference during the application process.

Yes. Payment plans are available through Stripe and may include processing fees. If you prefer to avoid fees, you can pay in full via Zelle or Venmo.

All payments are non-refundable. However, you may transfer your spot to another approved attendee with advance notice.
